Review: | Funny, But not Gross |
Happy Gilmore is funny. Adam Sandler doesn't do anything gross or retarded. He's violent. But the story is that he's a really bad hockey player. And that would make him violent. And he's able to temper his behaviour when necessary, and his whole motivation for golfing actually makes sense. It's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen — and all without being unnecessarily gross. And Happy's love interest is exceptionally nice to look at, and actually witty and intelligent. All in all, a funny movie about a bad hockey player turned pro golfer — he may be violent, but he's got a heart, and good intentions.
